How much would a turbo cost for my ranger?

I drove a 3.0 ranger for a year and would agree that that's not the best mill to work with. If you were really in love with the truck I'd personally look into swaping it to the 4.0L or, depending on the emissions req. you can swap in a 5.0 from a similar year Explorer. That would be a good base to get started.

If you really wanted to do just a turbo, you would be looking at about $5k+ to have a kit made for it, then installation would be more as the $5k is just parts and fabrication.

What's wrong with carbs? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
i dont know. but i JUST got my smog license last year (i smog cars here in california for a living) and i learned a lot about the engine. and from my experience of smogging cars cars with carburetors are now old school LOL. i must admit the design of the carbureatur (sp) is ingenuine but fuel injection is so much more cooler technology-wise and innovatively. and less messy. hahaha i sound like a moron i know.

Its because carbs tend to use more fuel.

But the carb is still one the forefront of winning racing still. Its design is old, but it is on some of the fastest cars now.

make it look nice - it'll be fast enough I promise
^x3... it won't be fast enough until u make it look nice. i think fosgate stickers should do the trick. put the RF logo on your bacc window to increase aerodynamics, causing your trucc to take off from the line faster.

Okay smartasses lol

It'll be fast enough to roll out on a slightly modded GT

I have a friend who has a 5 spd 3.0 with worked heads, he outdoes the GTs

Had the motor not blown up(funny enough) then we coulda raced a new GT lol

idk man, thats pretty far fetched..

a carb is inferior to a fi system, but it adds up..fast on a budget, a simple intake and carb will go alot further than any fi you could get for the same money..

i took the tpi off my iroc, shit was too expensive to upgrade.
