How much RMS can a 15" Type R really handle?

I have a solid audio f2500d, they are VERY underrated. If you buy that you better set the gain down quite a bit lol.

I would not run over 1000RMS to an alpine type R daily.

the solid audio is a much better amp then the zrs series im serious, then dont set the gains up its always good to have more power on tap. ensures u have a clean signal, clipping is the number one killer of subs

The solid audio f2500d puts out about 3500rms @ .5 btw, you just need the electrical to back it up. It's also 18V stable. You can keep listing amps but they wont compare for the price to performance ratio. It uses american bass xd3000 board also. You can also run them @ .25 with a stout electrical. Possibly lower but I wouldn't run lower than .25.

Just google that amp and you will see some good things about them. Not a lot of people know about them because they were short lived but a lot of the older competitors definitely knows about them.

solid audio f2500d ?????

read post #11 that jacob quoted although it is from 2007.

Google for more info if needed.

why would i want to run them at .5 ohms? what would that do besides be giving them more power...?

i was planning on running the 2 15"s at 1 ohm giving them each about 900 rms

I'm lost here.. I never said for you to run it at .5. I would never run alpines at .5 lol..

I was just stating how stout the solid audio f2500d was because I have one. On another post I made I said if you get the solid audio f2500d you better set the gain down a lot. I guess you missed my other post.

mclerico83 was the one that originally recommended you the solid audio f2500d anyway.

I also said toward the others that they can keep on listing other amps but the price to performance ratio on the solid audio is the best deal. I said that after mclerico83 recommended a Exile Audio 2400.1 AMP.

By the way you can have a 4000rms amp for example and set the gain down to 1000rms if you wanted to. Sometimes its a good idea to get a bigger amp than you really need as if you upgrade in the near future you have room to grow on and don't have to buy another amp..

I am just trying to help you here, if you don't follow what I am saying sry then.

I gave mine 1400rms daily took it well, suprisingly well. Then i cranked the gain to see how long it would last, lasted to long so i gave it ye ole wall socket

Beastly lil bastard it is and it can take one hell of a beatin
