i've been giving a 12' type r 900 rms for over a month and never had problems. Sounds pretty good too.

yea. i actually rebought this kx from the guy i originally sold it to. its powered quite a few subs in its life time lol.

good deal. ya the price is pretty hard to beat with the type Rs. but 2 15s off of the kicker should be great.

well my amp came in today pretty fast shipping i think. ordered Monday here Thursday. so hopefully everything will be installed this weekend.

Running 15's, they liked right around 1krms. Really got them moving. a 15" Type-R can handle 1500RMS daily no problems, but with my personal experiences, they start to sound like *** after 1100+RMS.
As for 12's, i've had the best luck with around 700-800rms. Again, they can take more, but will start sounding like shit.

I ran 1600~ clamped power to a type R 15. It doesn't like that much powa for extended periods of time (i.e 30+ seconds). Its only a 2.5 inch coil, and i would not recommend anything more then 1k.

i had a pair of 12's. They really shined with 2.5^ per. I used aeroports and would recommend a box like i had. I unfortunately don't have pictures of that particular set up. I do know that with 2x 12's on a orion 2500d with the box i spoke about above burped a 150.2 @ 44hz and did over a 144.xx on music

ya my box is 4.0 cubes to 33hz thats all i could fit but hopefully they will do good in the box .

I had a bunch of diff type r setups....single 15, 2 15s, 1 12, 2 12s, 4 12s,....and soon too try 2 10s hehe...cute lil buggers

Single 15R w/ Planet Audio vx1400(1250watts) 142 @ 38hz

Single 15R w/ PCA2000d(2000 watts) 145.6 @ 36hz(sexxxx)

2004 Explorer:

Single 15R w/ Sundown 1500d 142@41hz

Two 15Rs w/ AB500.1(@.5ohm) 150.8@43hz

Two 12Rs w/ AB500.1(1ohm) 149.7@44hz

Two 12Rs w/ AB200.1(1ohm) 149.4@44hz

The 500.1 @ .5ohm , they BURNEDDDD after full tilt for like 45sec....when i switched to 200.1 form 500.1 ( 5000 vs 3000) I only dropped .4 on my burp and could play it a lot longer

Sooo, 750 -1000 is about max id do for me of actual watts...not rating.....but youll know when to turn it down with common sense

man seems like you used a couple type Rs. ya i'm going to watch out for stinky coil. ill be sure to turn it down if i smell anything. i want them to last. maybe ill use the remote gain and set it for 1500 watts when the remote gain knob is all the way up this way i can turn it down while i'm driving.
