I have a s12l74 right now in my car being run by a kx600.1 giving it a supposed 740 watts according to the birth sheet, but i want more, could i feed it more power? it says 750 watts rms, could i feed it 1000w? like if i were to get a new amp, i may buy a l7 that is a dual 2 ohm so i can wire it to 1 ohm and sell my dual 4, what do you guys think?

Eh, you can add more power but 250 watts probably won't give you the volume that you desire. I would recommend building a custom ported enclosure first and give that a try, it's alot cheaper than selling your sub, and buying a new sub and amp. I don't know how good the kicker boxes are, but I've always heard build > prefab.

Generally true, but if Kicker made the box for THEIR sub, its probably okay.
Yeah that's what I was thinking, it's probably not a bad box at all. However, what's it tuned to? Maybe he can tune to something a little better for his needs, lower for more sql, higher for spl, it all depends. What do you want, just more volume? Does sound quality matter? What kind of music do you listen to?
