How much extra amperage can you expect to achieve by getting the alternator rewound?

that alt is probably different, the 2.4 in the clipse is a mitsubishi engine, I was talking about the 2.0/2.4 chrysler engine which would be in the stratus 4 dr, the 2 dr was the same as the eclipse, should have cleared that up
Cr@p, but thank you anyway!

i have a red top now, but he said that if i got a 180 amp alt i would need 2. Or a red and a yellow or 2 yellows.
Does this guy happen to be in the business of selling batteries?

One quality battery should be fine unless you're going crazy with >3,000w.

will the durango work on a 1993 chrysler 3.3 lt concorde v6
I think, I still cant find the links and stuff for where i did a bunch of research, it looks the same in my parts catalog. What they changed is the older cars had nuts on the feild wires and the newer alts had a plug. You may have to get a plug at the dealership or cut one off at the boneyard. May need a pulley swap too. Just remember this swap isnt 100% bolt on. A few things may need to change but I beleive the case is the same and its a small case denso.

here is a small list i found, it doesnt list the concorde 3.3, but it has other cars that year with that engine, probably just needs a pulley swap and change the wire connectors

Dodge Dakota 88-97 2.5 L

Jeep Cherokee 91-98 2.5 L and 4.0 l, 5.2 L

Jeep Comanche 91-98 2.5 L and 4.0 L

Why would they change the alternator just because they went from a 2-door to a 4-door? My friend has a Stratus 4-door and my other friend has an eclipse and everything is pretty much swappable. If the Durango alt fits the stratus, it should fit the eclipse.

underdrive takes AWAY from the alt, overdrive is the opposite. And just to tell you as the rpms raise underdrives are still taking away from the alternator just not as bad as idle.
You are right, I meant overdrive pulleys. I get use to talking about underdrive pulleys for my bigblocks where you want less drag, not more. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Not just big blocks, small blocks as well.. and whatever the 351 cleveland is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
351 is a small block. And yes, acheiving less drag would be beneficial to any power-inspired drivetrain. My point was I use BB's, not that that's the only situation to use underdrives.

the 4dr is a chrysler built car with a 2.7 and 2.4 chrysler engines, the 2dr coupe is a mitsubishi built car with a 3.0 and 2.4 mitsubishi engine

Just to make sure you know the cubic inch isn't what makes a small block a small block or a big block a big block, their are differences in design. So a 351 can be either a small or a big, im just saying the cleveland gets a lot of arguments of what it actually should be considered.
