Yeah with a SQ set like that you need a decent amp, and honestly with Rainbows they should be ran active imo

just apply it to the areas giving you the most trouble
Genius concept. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

CLD mat like Dynamat Xtreme, for ex, is the most wasted and overused noise control product in the history of noise control products - esp in car audio. It's OVERuse is not backed by science, just part of a "monkey see, monkey do" type of mentality. Stop reading anecdoes and 90% of forum posts and do some independent research and think for yourself.

Large flat panels coverage should net about 50-75 sqft max (depending on vehicle size, of course).

I used to use Dyna Xtreme, mainly b/c I got the stuff for 66% off MSRP but I can say never again. I've ordered and used Second Skin DP and regular Damplifier and can tell you I won't use another brand again. I've got 26sq ft of DP in the hatch area of my 6 and 40sq ft of Damplifier in my doors along with a layer of LLP. Yeah the deadener set me back 330 plus shipping but man is it worth it.

for people that have, how many square feet did it take, i got a 99 2 door explorer, i wanna do the whole car, preferably the doors and side panels all the way to the back and the rear hatch, any idea of how much i need?
Really depends on your system and how much air you are pushing around with your subs but most of our customer with your same vehicle go with 160 sq feet of Damplifier or Damplifier Pro.

I would not reccomend using less than 100 if you plan on doing the roof.

I would at least get 1 5 gallon bucket of cascade vbx1 or sludge. then 3-4 rolls of raamat or second skin and enough ensolite to cover the doors and floor up front to behind the front seats. I would start with that to be cost effective and effective. the cascade dries pretty quick I don't know about the sludge but I hear its good too. I would like to see a show down on liquid deadener like that other one.

You'll notice an immediate difference even if you only put ~20sq ft per door. The main thing is to get SOME deadener on all of the large surfaces in the door, and seal up any holes as much as you can with the deadener and if possible something like mdf or plexiglass over the largest holes. When i started, i bought ~45sq foot and did both doors of my car with that. It made a HUGE difference, even though it was only barely enough to cover the 2 metal surfaces (outer door skin and inner door metal) of the door. If you can get 1 good layer over the entirety of those metal surfaces, they will no longer resonate anywhere near as much as they do now. It was a remarkable change... I was actually quite happy not to spend any more on deadener once those doors were done...UNTIL now..

I managed to score a roll and a half of RAAMAT BXT, about 5-6 yards of ensolite and 5 cans of the V&S 1081 adhesive from a local guy via craigslist yesterday for 150$ - and that makes it worthwhile to do some more deadening //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

This roll and a half looks like enough to do my entire trunk (rear deck, trunk lid and trunk floor) and the inside of my plastic door panels for both front doors, with ensolite in the rear deck and in the front doors...i'll probably have ensolite to spare, which i'll stuff anywhere that i have small rattles that won't go away...

and it doesn't rattle much TBO. i haven't gotten to the front stage yet though so i see some in my future
