i don't mean this to be sarcastic but i did the big 3 today in 1/0 and it ended up being the big 4...

#1 from the alternator to the + battery terminal

#2 from the chassis to the - battery terminal

#3 from the frame to the - battery terminal

#4 from the engine block to the - battery terminal

all i did was replace what was already there (except the alternator to battery, the way it was originally run was alternator to fuse box to battery)

does anything about this sound wrong?

got a bxi2006 hooked up to a stock battery (850cca... big truck battery) sitting at a constant 13.8v gains set fairly conservatively

you probably didn't need to do the chassis to battery neg. since the fram to battery neg. is basically the same thing, and it's all you needed to complete the circuit. But I ended up having 3 grounds, since I did transmission to ground as well, because that was kinda needed due to the way the batt. neg. to chassis and the transmission to ground was connected to the same point.

Uhh... one cable going from the alt to battery, and one from engine block to chassis.

Where the hell did you get two?

there isn't one from the engine block to chassis... the way the truck is wired stock is with 3 grounds....

1 to the side of the engine bay on the sheet metal (what im calling the chassis... i guess you could call it the body) 1 directly to the frame, and 1 directly to the engine block, it had 3 grounds so i replaced 3 grounds...

must not have read that he removed the stock + to alt cable and replaced with a new one.

you can keep the stock cable and just add a new one can you not? I gues its personal preference whether you just add to it or remove and replace.

my original alt to bat cable actually went thru the fuse box, alt to fuse box to bat pos. so i left it in place, and added an alt to bat pos directly bypassing the fuse box, so the fuse box is still powered but there is no resistance between the alt and bat.
