how many watts?

hello
can someone tell me how you know how many watts is coming out from ur sub. i have the type X 12' and audiobahn amp A8000T . is there some kind of special wire way we have to do..

thanks for answering..

Your sub doesn't have any amount of wattage coming out of it. It does, however, produce sound (like every other speaker in your car) as a reaction to a power source feeding X amount of watts worth of an audio signal to it.

The amount of wattage will depend on what amp you use, certainly, and where the volume level is set on the source unit. An amplifier rated to put out 1,000 watts RMS (continuous) power doesn't always output 1,000 watts.

So, your question is a bit difficult to answer.

i am sorry for the confusing.. what i mean is how can u tell how many watts u getting from ur subwoofer/amp ??

the audiobahn amp is rated at

Max Power: 1600W

4Ω Mono : 400W x 1 RMS

2Ω Mono : 800W x 1 RMS

but how do i know which one i am getting??

sorry i am lack in car audio.

Kevin

You want to wire the subwoofer in parallel since it is has dual 4 ohm coils.

To do this, you want to wire the first plus to the second plus to any of the plus terminals on the amp. Then, wire the first minus to the second minus, then to any of the minus terminals on the amp.

You could also have a wire coming from each positive and each negative of the sub and plug both positives into the positive of the amp and both negatives into the negative of the amp.

But I'm splitting hairs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I had trouble with this so i will reitterate what they said.

Take a wire. Hook it up to one + terminal and to the other + terminal on the sub. Then take 1 more wire, and hook it up to one of the + terminals on the sub. (*After this, there will be a terminal with two wires hooked up to it.) Take that new wire and run it to the + connector on the amplifier (make sure its the + speaker channel and not the power input //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)

Do the same for the negative, BUT, when you put that wire on the terminal that goes from the sub to the amp, make sure it is on the same side as the + one that goes to the amp. If you have more questions, just ask someone again and we will get it through your thick *** head :p
