how many watts RMS do u give your sub daily?

i dont understand!! how are you people pushing so much power to your sub and at the same time have your components keep up with your sub(s)?? if i set the gain on my subs amp to push 800 watts to my idMAX at volume X and have the components receive 150 watts at volume X the idMAX is waaayy louder than the componets.. i guess this is where our sub differences comes in and my idMAX is so efficent the beast is my blowing comps out the water!?

The IDMax isn't extremely efficient....it's pretty average. A lot of it may have to do with the inefficiency of your speakers, or maybe poorly setup speakers, speaker location, etc etc. Is your max ported? Because right now my sub doesn't overpower my frontstage, but it's sealed. If it were ported, it probably could pretty easily. Though, with only ~50w on my Next comps, they get pretty darn loud.....louder than you'd expect.

~7000 to the subs...125 to the RE comps up front.

Before everyone jumps all over me about the RMS of Visonik V4000XD's...it's a guess. Hence the ~ . 16 volt system, 1 ohm load...

Im sure it's less after imp. rise etc..just helping with the thread:)

hmmm.. yea my box is ported. and i think youre just about right about my speakers maybe being inefficient. ive got infinity perfect components in mdf rings but thats about it. maybe if i deaden my doors ill get a lot more output from them? they sound nice right now nonetheless but i find it weird that i give my idMAX no more than 400 watts so that it doesnt drown out my components. maybe being ported has a big thing to do with it too..

Yeah, sounds like multiple variables fitting together to result in poor overall response. Ported Max will have a ton of output. And speakers in a poor install (no sound deadening, doors not sealed, etc etc) will not have a great deal of output most of the time. That type of stuff. And Infinity speakers aren't well known for having mind blowing output.

400 rms bumpin, but I usually don't blast my stereo cause I ride with my windows down most of the time. So I estimate 200 rms to two subs most of the time.

bout 130rms to the RE comps up front, and soon to be 4000rms to my sub
good luck with that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I've had UP TO 3000rms on my substage, currently Modded1501d @1ohm...so around 1800-2000rms...BUT BIG BIG things are to come...two of them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Front: 95wrms

Sub: Currently 800 wrms, previously 1500 off the same amp as Nikosbuddy. God, I miss that MTX..

Your ears are FAR less sensitive to low frequencies, subs are a lot less efficient than fullrange speakers and components, and usually your subs are mounted 6 to 10 feet away from you, pointing away from you (Where front speakers are less than 5 feet and pointed directly at you...). You tally all this, and it's easy to figure a sub would be only 1/10 as efficient as a normal front speaker.
