How many Tweeters?

Remember tweeters are a directional sound wave, so location is one most important things. In other words if you point them toward you you shouldnt need as many. Also tweeters dont represent anything to an amp, they have no voice coil. So as long as they have some type of inline or passive crossover you can plug them right into your amp on a channel that is already being used. (Your high end amp of course) and the amp doesnt recognize them as even being there.

Sorry, but all of that is 100% wrong.

Tweeters have voice coils, and they DO present a load to the amplifier over the bandwidth of frequencies they are playing.

I ghetto-rigged some homemade headphones with 2 5 watt speakers, coathanger, rope, speakerwire and a bare headphone jack.

They scream, they can be heard clearly across a large room, you can make out which song it is.

I dont know how many watts are actually being pushed through.... Anyways I happen to have a pair of 2 watt speakers next to me, and they arent by our standards (since we are all used to 130+ decibels..) LOUD, but i can hear them across my room.

A little bit goes a long way....

Speakers don't have power themselves, amps do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

funniest post ever!

Frost... I know the power isnt in the speaker... I said I didnt kno how many actual watts were being pushed, my point was that in any case, they can be heard across a room, even 2w speakers in a small room. Do u agree ?

Oh, I certainly agree...just didn't want any n00bs getting that impression that the speaker determines the power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

My Klipsch Forte II's @ 96dB/W true efficiency will get very room-filling off 2wpc //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
