how many RCA wires do i need?

if it's a 2 channel amp then you'll need 2

1 left channel and

1 right channel

if it's a 4 channel then you'll need 2 pairs

1 front pair front left / front right

and 1 read pair

rear left / rear right

What if it is a 4 channel amp bridged to 2 channels? Still four, or only two?

It will depend on whether or not the amp in question will make 4 channels' worth of output with only 2 channels of input (some will, some won't)

If this is the case with your amp then you're good to go.

If this is not the case then you'll need to do one of two things:

A) Buy Y-splitters to turn your single, two-channel RCA cable into 4 channels. (One splitter to turn the single left channel into two and likewise for the right)

B) Get a second RCA cable or buy a 4-channel set of cables ~ whichever is more convenient/cheaper for you.

i will be bridging my diamond d3 400.4 4 channel amp to 2 channel to power only a pair of crystal sscs 6 component system in the front. so does that mean i need two rca cables? one for the left front speaker and one for the right front speaker?
