How many Pre amp RCA outs do i need?

If i am hooking up a 5 channel amp up 1 channel for sub 2 channels for rear speakers and 2 channels for front speakers, how many pre amp outs will i need on my head unit?

yea, three sets. it should have a seperate pair for the subs and then 2 pair for the 4ch amp

yea that would work. dont know if your looking to buy that HU or not. But there are a lot better HU on this site then that particular one. But asfar as the rca's, yea that would work.

I am planning to buy it as i am on a tight budget. I am just wanting to replace the old factory stereo in my old truck to something that will sound half way decent. Here is what i plan to get any suggestions are welcome but remember that i am on a tight budget.

I'd forget about putting in rear speakers

and if you do, not pyramid

Also for your front speakers a component set would be better

Amazon has some Phoenix Gold RSD components for $40 i believe.. great speakers for that price

so if i dont put in rear speakers my sound quality wont be hurt? even in a extended cab pickup?

Not having a rear fill is better for sound stage and imaging, so no it wont hurt sound quality. However, SQ really depends on how and what you are using the speaker for.

ok thank you so if i got that setup without the rear speakers i can bridge the front speakers on that amp (if i have been reading correctly) right? And is that all i would need to get for everything to work and to self install?

I would get components in the front. Those tweeters make the sound so much clearer. Instead of buying those Kenwood, I would buy the JVC from Walmart for $40 instead. Spend about $10 and get some tweeters. I had these sets and the JVC is so much cleaner sound.

I don't know where you live but I live in Fullerton, CA and recently bought some 10" Phoenix Gold clearance sub from Fry's for about $25. If you live near me, I'll let you have one for the price I bought. I bought 2 and only need one.

if you wanna run rear speakers do it, nothing wrong with it
