^^sounds like a personal problem,
or if you haven't had any in a few months, I could understand.
^x2 on 2nd part.
You all are rediculous...
I drive a Caprice, adn I love it, but does that mean I love the new Impala's too? **** NO!
Should I also embrace that tiny fugly little Aveo because it's a chevy? **** NO!
Should I have on a sweet old mustang because it's a ford? **** NO!
Some cars are sweet, some cars blow... it doesn't really matter what brand the are...
I agree. Just because I drive a Buick, doesnt mean that I love the new regals..or the Lesabre or whatever. My good friend is die-hard ford, and he has a 04 stang, and LOATHES the v6 stang. Just because you like one aspect of the company, doesnt mean you need to like them all.
Do you see Aztec owners going to TA meets and saying "Dude we're like family!"
Hell no.
what makes your car the last hot rod? last time i checked anything modded with a big motor is some kind of hot rod. what exactly makes it a HOT ROD? is it the age? the big motor? the body? what?..............
camaro SS and mustang cobra are not hot rods i take it??? TA's are not hot rods? CORVETTES! are not hot rods??? please answer this intelligently of how these dont classify and your car does.
Acid and I had a good talk about this last night. IMO, a hot rod has that old-school menacing look to it. A common-ish looking car w/ some kick-*** to it. The older muscle cars chevelles, nova's,etc. were big common (for the day) looking cars geared for the everyday person, with options of bigger engines (how the GTO started..)
The I think everything post-87 is a sports coupe. A new vette isnt a hot rod. The sleek lines, and the smooth body figures just dont remind me of the old school camaro's/chevelle SS's/Nova's/Chargers etc.
To me, a hot rod is something that reminds you of the yester-year when cars were more than just an A to B thing, and BB power ruled the streets. Although the GN has no BB in it, to me, it still reminds me of the old school(and has the engine to meet/beat the BB's). To me, its the look, and the general impression you get when you first look at the car. IMO,it looks like friggin darth vader's car if he could have one. Big,black, and mean as fuk, with a bite that will kick your face in. We could get into the whole carb issue of a true hot rod being carb'd n whatnot, like the good ol days, when leaded fuel was plentiful, but that isnt what makes a hot rod to me.
I consider all the new TA's,SS's and such to be sport coupes. You could, I guess, use "new muscle" but to me, it will never remind me of the old days. I don't see a WS6 and think "Dude that reminds of the 69 Firebird" I think "What a kickass car"
This is all my personal opinion and nothing more. I consider the GN the last hot rod, and the Impala SS the last muscle car.
If you'd like,we can discuss this more, but this is all my opinion, and I don't see it changing much. I haven't seen a car in the past 15 years that makes me feel like a GN does. Now, if you excuse me, I have a turbo to take off,and then some headers/ then the heads. I have my work cut out for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
building a solid DD 12 sec car by yourself w/ no previous experience is oh SO fun.
In regards to those who made comments about my *** life or whatever.. You havent been here long enough for me to care, nor do I value your opinion enough to let it bother me to an extent of addressing them individually.
