Well it's late and I was bored, and came across this. I assume since the video has like 40ish views, it's not a repost.

Just thought this would help break some stuff down for people with a typical question on here. "How many batteries do I need."

I recommend doing as he says, opening up another tab and going to the geocities site.

Maybe sticky this. I'll leave that up to the Moderatorz.

Also help on a decision between a Yellowtop or Redtop.

Also on that Geocities site.

http://www.geocities.com/hempev/Battery.html has a chart of several batteries statistics

Wow, what a bunch of BS. This is a general calculation that could vary widely. At no point does this calculate for a dynamic load (playing music). This whole calculation assumes that you can make rated power out of both your amps, continuously for the time stated.

Also, when he says that the batteries will equally supply the 178A each, unless those are identical batteries, that will not happen. Larger batteries (like the G31 Yellow) will supply more of the amperage than a smaller battery in the same circuit. Only voltage will be common.

So if I had that system, about 3000W RMS and had the Red + Yellow D31 + 90A alt, I could only play for about 15mins before my batteries died? I don't think so. This is way off for sure.
