How Low?

well i played a testtone of 13hz and all i hear is the panels shaking in my door..i see the sub moving but no sound..

I agree with Jmac. You probably aren't hearing the 10hz tone.......your probably hearing either an upper harmonic artifact of that frequency, or the mechanical noise of the speaker itself, something in your car vibrating, etc etc.

Anyways.....with test tones and no crossover, you can get your mids to produce any frequency you want. Here is a 6.5" with a 2hz signal: http://diymobileaudio.com/pics/proto.avi

Considering human hearing ranges from 18 Hz to 23 kHz AT BEST, I highly doubt you're actually hearing a 10 Hz tone ... You're probably hearing the mechanical noise from your speaker struggling to try to play a 10 Hz tone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

No not saying I heard it at all. Just wondering if it is normal for them to play that low... and with the way the settings on everything is set I don't know why they are.

That's my thing... I didn't tweak the comp crossovers. I've only had 2 sets of comps and on both I had someone else adjust them. I told them how I wanted it, but that don't mean anything.

Well I checked the comp crossover and it's set to "flat". Then on the "bi-amp norm" on both the of them it's set on the two top pins.

There are notes that can cause that kind of thing though, it's well documented, but I don't remember the link. It was the original inspiration for sound based weapon designs.
