How long until i should be concerned about being scammed...

I purchased an item from the classifies. He had 1 or 2 positive revews in the feedback forum and he's been a member since 2005. I sent payment last wednesday and he said he was gonna get it shipped out friday. The last message i recieved was on friday and he said he was gonna ship it out and give me the tracking number. I haven't received a message since. How long do you guys think i should give him until i take action through paypal etc?

edit: i wasn't too clear in my first post. He never actually confirmed it was shipped out and he didn't give me a tracking number. I have sent him multiple PM's over the weekend with no response

wtf? He sent it out Friday and your moaning on Monday? AND he gave you the tracking number? Even when you check the status of the package, its not always up to date. When is it due to arrive? This coming Thursday? Chill out man...jeez...

x2 i would at least pm him and over a week is how long you should be concerned if not longer.

Give it a couple more days...Dont be so quick to assume the persons out to get you. Anything could have happened to prevent computer acess

of course, thats why i'm asking here. I don't think i was scammed or anything, i'm just cautious with online transactions. I don't want to wait too long and then be shit out of luck in the event that it is some sort of scam. d00d its been 1 business days since he was supposed to have shipped it, have you checked the last time he was on the forum to see if maybe he hasn't gotten your pms yet? Did you get a phone number for him before the deal? If so you could maybe give him a ring if you don't want to wait a reasonable amount of time.

Couple more days man. Maybe next Monday. If no PM, call, anything, then call him out and start your chargeback...

d00d its been 1 business days since he was supposed to have shipped it

and Friday the shippers were closed here in Miami for the holiday. atleast Fedex and USPS were when I went by.

i understand, it probably wasn't a good idea to put his name in etc, i'll edit it out of my first post because that isn't really important. I'll wait it out a little longer. I've been scammed before online so i'm just a little weary about it.

However, I am not saying he scammed me, i was wondering how long you should wait until i should be concerned. However it was bad judgment for me to put his name in the post, and i will remove it accordingly.

The last thing i want to do is tarnish his reputation unnecessarily

jesus christ that thread scared me. Hopefully i won't be in the same situation. However it still has me concerned
