How I get a 17 volt electrical system.

different batteries. There are 17 volt batteries or you can wire up 8v or 2v batts in series to get to 16v. Kinetik makes a modded 2400 with an 8/4 split, but it takes 4 batteries to make that happen.

oh yeah, you'll need a separate electrical system for all that. A step up transformer, charger, or second alt.

Think I could just put like a yellow top up front and a turbo start16v in the back?I am not actually lookin to build a 17v system I would just like to get as most volts with out spending to much $$

You aren't going to get more than 14.4ish volts without spending a lot of money. You can't just add a higher voltage battery without a way to charge it. It requires voltage higher than the battery voltage for it to charge. Now if you want this just for comps and have an external charger hat will let you quick charge the high voltage battery between runs, you could do that, but you wouldn't be able to use that setup daily.

A higher voltage going into the amp usually equals higher output of watts coming from the amp.
But most amps are set up just to take about 12 - 13.8 v why not just get an amp that u can use and just strap em'? Instead of frying ur system. but the only thing i can see beneficial is so u dont get an impedance rise if u choose not to strap

post #1 but the power is rated at 17 volts

competition amps especially can handle the 16-18 volt range.

An amp and strap? strapping is TWO amps....twice as much $$$

impedence rise isn't about the amp.
