I have a 02 eclipse and am running sony 6x9s in the rear and infinity components in the front off a kenwood kdc x993 head unit.

I would really like to add some subs to this setup but i dont know far i can go as far as power before i have to upgrade my charging system, the big 3 is about as far as i would like to go. Seeing as this is kind of a temporary car but ive always enjoyed good bass. The stock alt puts out 85 amps. Thank you in advance //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

take ur 85 amps and multiply that by ur voltage which is 14 and that will be how much total ur alt can handel 85x14=1190 and they say that 40 percent of that goes to ur stock accessories so take 1190x.6=740.....740 is 60% of ur alt that can be used for aftermarket stuff. so remember this is just a ball park i wouldnt go pushin this to the max id rather have more than enough than not enough

i also had a civic with a kicker 2500 watt amp and for a year has been fine!

is all how good your connections are! but dont over do it either

I did fine with 650 watts RMS of class AB power in my 97 Civic coupe on the stock alternator with a Kinetik HC1400. Unfortunately, when I upped the ante to 1,500 watts RMS of class AB power, I went with a 175 amp HO alternator and a reprogrammed ECU to bypass Honda's Electrical Load Detector, or ELD for short.
