Da fuq did I just read?
I have an Alpine CDA-9887 with 3 preouts and Im wanting to run an active front stage plus amplified rear fill to hang with 6kw. Any ideas how to do this? Any processor that can do this? I want to use the HU's crossovers because they are much more flexible than those on my Sundown SAX-100.4

Naw man, once you flick the switch that's pretty much it.

Maybe, I'm not 100% sure, but maybe you cold run your SW full range,

send the signal to a 2 way crossover and use your SW out as a quasi fader

and use remote amp level knobs for you SW amps. That shits rather odd though.

hmm... that seems overly complicated. How about running my preouts full range into an external crossover that has the same selectable slopes etc.? Are there any that turn 2 preouts into 3 or more? I think I could live with that if anyone makes em. I am going to keep using the sub preout crossed over through the HU

Actually you may want to look at the audison Lrx 2.150

It has some pretty cool crossover out functions that would do what you want

and run your tweeters. As long as the tweeter is close to the mid you should do

okay with the same TA value.

read the manual..
if you can't read the manual, then don't bother running the setup in active.
I've been running active for over a year just fine... The HU only puts out a signal from about 3.5khz-20khz on the front preout and a bandpassed signal from 80hz-3.5khz on the rear preouts thus my dilemna. I suggest you re-read the OP.

TY for the suggestion, I will look into this

Alpine H-701 will do it with ease.
wont I just be stuck with a mono preout where I need stereo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I dont understand wtf you are wanting... You say you want to use the HU's XO's, then use them. Unless they arent sufficient enough.

I dont know how the 701 would be overly complicated... That would be the simplest solution, control it all through your HU and gives you nearly endless possibilities and a kick *** EQ. I think you need to do some more research before you tackle an active set up...

No. The 701 will give you 6 pre-outs for the front, and 2 for the subs, a total of 8. Front high (left and right), front mid (left and right), rear (left and right), and sub outs.

Plus you can run all the sound over either optical or RCA, it gives you a better EQ, time alignment, and it is all controlled through the HU. Its pretty bad ***.

maybe I'm not making it clear what I'm asking. In a perfect world I would have a 4 preout HU, 1 subwoofer out, 1BP output (mids), 2 HPFoutputs (1 for the tweeters, one to HP the rear fill speakers) as I want to run amps to everything to keep up with a 6kw substage. I know these do not exist. I am wondering if there is a processor that can make this happen

whoa... this might be exactly what I need. I just saw that it had a center channel out and I assumed it was a mono output that couldnt be used for anything else
