how do you run a 3 way front stage with 3 channels on a headunit? (mid/high/sub0

After some research, Seems to me that the only true 4 way active capable HU is old clarions/alpines, an current Pioneer 99rs. I refuse to go passive with anything, Ever. Which means if i want to run 3 way, ive gotta throw down 1k for a HU. Ugh. What a bummer. guess ill settle for a 2 way.

You can do passives on your front mids and tweeters. Keep the driver pairs as close together as possible. I promise you it can sound awesome. You wouldn't have a problem with it if you could demo my car.

I know videos dont do it justice but maybe make a youtube video. Id love to see it and how you have it all wired up while your at it. I know how to wire it, just be interesting to see how you have your set up.

Also what tuning can you do with passives? I assume since your mid-tweeter should be next to eachother. They should be able to be time aligned one the same channel.

I have a bunch of YouTube videos with music demos. You're right, they don't do it justice. They entertain me and it takes very little effort to do a song demo video. I usually don't even tell people to check them out because of that, but you can find them if you search YouTube for "sq saturn". You'll want to view videos from July 11, 2014 and later for the best audio quality. I got an HTC One M8 phone just before then, and the dual membrane mic can handle up to 140 dB.

I didn't draw out every speaker wire connection, but this is a system layout diagram I did last year.

There are so many different passive crossovers. The EX-550i crossovers I use now have a woofer adjustment switch for 6.5"/5.25" or 4" woofers, and a tweeter attenuation switch. I set the woofer switch to 4", put the tweeter attenuation switch in the middle position, and that did it for me. I ran without JBL MS-8 for a couple of weeks and I didn't adjust the passives any further. Depending on your mids and tweeters you might not get that lucky, and you don't want to run any random crossovers.
