but also that any subwoofer with the same displacement as the other (actual tested parameters, NOT manufacturers specifications) has the potentiality to achieve the same SPL figures. It is just a matter of exploiting its traits in a different manner.
The Fi Q15 will get just as loud as a Mag 15, each given their desired boxes and the power necessary to reach xmax (not exceeding thermal limits of the VC) will get just as loud as the other and can sound just as good at the same time. The Mag is often portrayed as an amazing SQL driver (which is true), but that is also capable of considerable SPL figures that are larger than drivers in its same category...which is an exaggeration. The Mag cannot defy physics. It has just been exploited (very well i mind you), by some excellent SPL builders just as the Type-R was.
