What? Why would you say that?? Keeping the signal digital all the way through the processing and only converting to analog at the processor outputs or in some cases at the optical amp itself is a very good way to go. The Pioneer ODR system is based on just that. It's expensive, yes but I wouldn't say there is no use for it.yeah there is no real reason for it in the car audio world.
