how do i know if i havd bad rca cables or is it something else

Im sorry if I got the name of the cable wrong (the one that connects from the radio to the amp), a few days ago I went to work with my system workly fine and when I got back it was barely even noticable (and that was at high volume level) I asked this question a llil while ago, but got no response, I looked at everything and the only thing I could find out is if I more the rca cables around they get louder for a quick second and go back to the quietness, so im wonder is there a problem with the cable or where the cables attached to?
