how do i know if a sub has been abused?

if its at a pawn shop its most likely stolen too so make sure all mounting and everything is good

I'm not sure about where you're from, but here Pawn Shops must report ALL items taken in to the police once a week

Smelling it could also be considered as "physical abuse", so be careful where you smell, and always ask for permission first.

Oh, and I think when you push it you are looking for some kind of scraping noise...to see if its blown. But every sub I pushed did that noise imho. edit: push on center of cone with a few fingers, press evenly straight down.

just make sure theres no scratching noises... make sure nothing looks ripped or dented in the cone/spider.. most importantly check it with a dmm and if its a dual make sure both coils are similar.
