Ok, thanks because these were my next question. These are temp indoor speakers like i said i'm a noob and i know i had to start somewhere. i was considering mb quart 6.5's then i found cadence for a better price. but eventually i settled for these and plan to move up. same with everything else. i do have another question how could a test tone damage my speakers? also do i use the xover on the amp and the HU too? It's at 4ohms to the amp. Just set the gains with a multimeter at the amp just as you would a sub. And set it for the RMS rating of the speakers. Then once they fall apart, get real components next time. Use a 1kHz test tone to set. I'd recommend unhooking your speakers when you set them or you could damage them, and your hearing.
Test tones are used to set your gains and it's dependent on the power being sent to your speakers to match the voltage on the amp. Just do it w/o the speakers attached and thank us later.Ok, thanks because these were my next question. The big 3 couldn't hurt, but I would wait and see if your headlights are dimming when the bass hits once you get yours set up. I haven't done this yet and I'm running about 1kw to both a sub and some comps, w/o any dimming. I have to set my gains correctly and when I do, if they dim, I will do the big 3.And should i be doing the big 3 as well. When i get the onx1.100 for the subs i would need a distributor as well ? sorry if im jumping around but im reading so much and questions are popping up.
