How do I hook my mechman adjustable regulator up to my mechman 270 alt?

I bought a mechman 270 amp alt and the external adjustable regulator. It didn't come with instructions. It came with a pre-wired harness though? It looks like it plugs in the alt and the individual wires at the end go to regulator. If it does plug into the alt,where does my factory plug go?
