Just got my DC power alt in..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif...so im wondering if i can install it myself?

Is the only thing you have to do is disconnect the negative before you disconnect the factory or do you have to even do that at all?

ive installed amps/HUs but not so much under the hood except for a thermostat/hose/filter every now and then, but im pretty good with instructions so if you got any to throw my way id appreciate it!

Thanks.

depends on car. I've seen them where the alt is pretty much on top of everything in the engine compartment and it would be a breeze, but mine was tucked away and a bitch and a half to pull out of there.

ahh yeah good point, i hadnt even checked out where it was in my ride 08 trailblazer.

cant wait to get this bad boy in...this is a 270A SP, but i really ordered a 250A XP.....but they are on backorder or something so i have to wait three to six weeks, untill then i guess im going to have to suffice with this.

idont know it doesnt look that hard to get to but i could be wrong. what do yall think?

Take off your battery cables. Unhook all wiring/plugs from the alt. Untension the belt. Unbolt the alt. Install in reverse order.

It should come out without having to move much else, if anything. Bungie cords are nice to use to hold things back out of the way if you have to move anything.

You may just have to take things that are on top or in the way off as well. Not that hard as it looks to be pretty much on top. What all are you running? The SP is an awesome line though.
well right now im gearing up for my system, nothing is installed yet, i got a dd 9515g, 2 powerbass xa-3000s, 3 sprinter batts,

still need to run fatter power wire i only have a small system right now with 4gauge, install the big 3, and the box which im going to try and put together this weekend- probly about six cubes tuned to 35hz or so, at least try to tune it according to the re box calculator lol.
