how did you install your comps?

in a car with no factory component locations, what is the best way to install them? should i put the woofer in the stock coax location with the tweeter fabricated into the apiller? or should i get some kind of qlogic kick panel on the floor? what should i do with the cross overs? with installing comps do i need to run new wiring for them? should i locate the crossovers close to my amp? and once i run an external amp to them do all the wires the go to the wiring harness stay the same(front R+/- and front L +/-)

i just fabricated 2 6.5" on the top of my dash then cover with a black fleece..
