How close to the rear?

building my first box for 2 hdc315's. i drive a 98 tahoe and will have the subs firing up and port to the rear. How much clearance do i need between the port and the rear hatch?

I always leave just as much or more than the port width.

But I never use ports that are less than 4 inches wide so I suggest no less than 4 inches.

Higher velocity which can cause ripple AKA port noise.

you got plenty of room in yur tahoe.....leave same as port width between port and hatch
