After doing some reading here and elsewhere, I'm thinking about getting a high power headunit to drive my front pair and rear pair of speakers. I would then get a seperate amp (200-300 W) to drive an 8 inch in the back. Couple of questions:
1. Someone told me there's a way to divert all base responsibilities to the subwoofer and allow my smaller speakers to just focus on mids and highs. What do I need to do for this?
2. Will one of the $300 Alpines have sufficient power to drive the front and rear speakers without the subwoofer load? How much power can these Alpines push?
3. I have a Tahoe. Will I need to upgrade my electric system with a more powerful alternator to keep from draining my battery?
4. I also need to get an OnStar adapter. Any recommendations?
