Dunno about the vehicle but his 2 10's in the ported box....says sometimes they hit low, other times they don't...its a recent thread too. Even papermaker made a lot of suggestions but OP went with another box being built.

Lol I haven't been on this forum in like forever, barley posted actually but I've been getting back into car audio and I get this email and this post has made my day, I literally think I have 3 posts and that was 1 year ago starting a progression that I should update.. The point

All info I gathered was just googling, asking a local shop, and more freaking googling. Most times the google searches take you to this forum or a few others that answer the questions.

Asking dumb questions wastes ppl time, like someone said no one is paid, but this forum is to help people willing to do it themselves and work for it. Otherwise just pay the shop and be happy, or do your own thing and mess up your stuff

This forum has helped me a lot, and I didn't need to ask the questions, thanks guys for your previous posts that have helped me and I hope to now be one who can contribute! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Google is king.. I've been googling a lot lately

One thing google is not so good for is brand knowledge. If your asking to compare 2 speakers and you really dont know what your looking for or looking at, so on and so forth. Youtube is also a great source, especially when comparing brands. I just learned this recently and to look up dyno's for amps, so on and so forth. I haven't asked too many shops, and most of the shops I ask have a thing against Sundown when I ask (BUT one shop sold DD and the other was Massive or Memphis IIRC).

And most of the time someone has already asked your dumb question and it can be found with a simple google search.

One thing I had a problem with was the abundance of users with quality information and the ability to just ask a question. I know I've had some stupid posts in the past mostly because it was just so easy to ask the question. BUT most of my time on here is for brand preference, reviews, and ideas and for cleaning up so incorrect info I may have gotten. Really if your question isn't application specific or user specific, its probably been asked. I also don't think I've had too many issues getting other users to respond.

True the comparing brands thing is key, but then again when you get down to it, when your comparing to super high quality subs or such that sometimes it's personal preference, not always and that's why Google can help "what's a better sq w6 or w7?" or "what speakers are better Focal Krx2's or Dynaudio GT 242's?" the answer is there, if you look hard enough and know what you want, cause it also matters on conditions example (silk vs metals matters on conditions and preference) but Google can still help with all of that. However down to the end, the best thing to do, if your really care, is try both, and sell the set, sub, amp, or accessory that you don't want.

I guess another thing to consider is, for me I am doing a sq build which is more reliant on feedback, reviews etc... where as spl /db builds, if your look for most power to push I guess like you said amp Dyno's of YouTube would be helpful!

But I do hear you, my one shop is JL heavy, more like JL FIRM, lol, so you can't be reliant only on shops.
