how bad is this?

I read the gain setting sticky a week ago and finally got to taking a look at my amp. I noticed the gain was set to the maximum(had a friend hook it up for me) so I'm wondering if this made my sub weaker from any abuse? I noticed that increasing the volume on my hu from 0-10 increased the bass a lot more than 10-20, but the only time i had the volume up high was going to and from school about once a month(3 hr drive) so yea, i turned the gains down a bit for now but any ideas on if this caused any damage? kicker 12 L5 with a hifonics brutus 600 rms amp, btw

Yea it should be fine OMO, if its till moves freely you should be good as long as yo udidnt clip it

i've done damage to a sub that way... but, if it plays fine now... just set your gain correctly nd get a bigger amp
