How are Orion Subs?

Don't know much about those particular subs, though the XTR would probably be enough.

How are you planning to power it? How big is the area you plan to use it in? Music, movies or both? Is this just for fun or do you have other practical reasons to be doing this? In most cases for the home, you don't need to go past a 12" if you power it well. Accuracy and SQ over SPL for the home!

I've heard good things about the new XTRPROS, not a bad price either, I have no first hand experience with them yet, would do well in a home situation... found a write-up:

I was actually contemplating getting a xtrpro12 myself for my new rig, but deciding to go with morel instead.

I'm trying to keep the cost down under $100 for the sub I ordered a Dayton SA-240 to power it so it's 240 wrms @ 4ohms.

better , but orion just dont put the effort into their equipment like they used to
Is there anything you can recommend that wont break my bank I mean I do want it to sound good but it is a basement stereo for my dads Christmas present and I don't have a ton of money.

Pair of these:Dayton Audio SD315A-88 12" DVC Subwoofer 295-488

one of these:

Dayton Audio DCS305-4 12" Classic Subwoofer 4 Ohm 295-204

Couldn't imagine why you'd use a car specific woofer for home theater ever. Get Dayton sub to match Dayton plate amp and be done with it. None of the Dayton subs have bad reviews and I'd bet dollars to donuts they would be far more efficient in the 200W range.
I would get the 2 dvc 12's but they are dual 8 ohm and I need the impedance to be 4 ohms to get the full 240 wrms from the amp. So looks like it's going to be the Dayton Audio DCS385-4 15" Classic Subwoofer 4 Ohm 295-206
