trying to get louder 28-100Hz, which 8's? 2 Kicker S8L7s vs 2 Sundown SA-8s

So ive been talking with my builder about how to get louder full 28-100hz range with 1.75cu of space or so. He just built a new box for his s12L7 and it had his extended cabs rear window flexing. He thinks best bet for me is to do 2 s8L7's running one sealed and one ported in a single dual chambered box. So that i have nice punchy highs and deep lows, i can find em on ebay and stuff for like 280 a pair. But i can also pick up a pair of SA-8s for 270 a pair, but would an SA-8 given the right box sound good 50-100Hz sealed? I know they sound great ported, and also would i have enough space. My builder said the Qts of the s8L7s are so low they dont need large boxes to get loud so thats why there a good option for my space limitations. Im just wondering if sundown would be a better bet, and has anyone tryed this? Or seen results from someone who has

I would go with the Sundowns. Thats a crazy configuration, one sealed, and one ported. Have no idea how that would sound. The SA series is not the best in sealed, but neither are the Kickers. The good thing about the SA is if you do seal them, they require very small boxes. I believe the 10s call for .5 cubes, so an 8 would probably be like .3 cubes or something.

why do one ported one sealed? if u put the sundown in an efficient box you would be fine....also why do u need to go up to 100hz if u dont mind me asking
this. most comps can play down to 80hz fine.

I had 3 sa-8s tuned to 30hz and they didnt like to be crossed above 80hz given I was tuned low

I also have a 8" L7 on my golf cart tuned at about 33-34hz, and it really doesnt do much better above 80hz either.

alot of people do it, just some do a horrible job at it. ever since me and my dad did ours more and more have been popping up locally but they sound like dookie. just a bunch of eminence 6.5s on the roof running full range with car rims....meh

ours has Boston Acoustics SR-series coaxials (2sets) and the 8" L7 under the rear seat all pushed by a Alpine PDX 5. candy cobalt blue paint job...customized seats...12in supersport golf cart rims....i love that thing.

Either in a proper box should sound decent. Not sure wich would b louder. The l7s will get loud sealed or ported. Imo I wouldnt do 1sealed one ported . If you do run them that way seperate amps may help as your trying to do different freq ranges. Sealed can b tuned higher allowing the 100 hz range most ported are around 80 .hz. Idk if they would work well togetherlike that. Gl either sub should get loud.
