Im about to deploy overseas for 6 months and should come back with around 20k in the bank.

Im not looking at this exact car. Just a 928 the 80's-early 90's range. They're cheap, come with a 5.0 v8, hatch back. Seems like a good car for having fun, getting loud. What do you think?

The idea of a liquid cooled V8 Porsche still is weird to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Also, if you're really thinking about high SPL, I'd find something cheaper to find parts for...in case things break //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i agree with him ^^^^ ... if i was looking for a project CAR i would go with like a civic hatchback... somthing popular like that.. then again it looks like you want some power so ou cant get that from a civic. haha...

Yeah Im a little worried about parts..but the main reason Im looking at the 928 is the v8. I dont like the idea of adding hundreds upon hundreds of pounds to a car with a 4 cylinder!

Traditionally, the 928 is a mechanical nightmare. I dont know if you want to have a porsche on an enlisted guy's budget. You may be able to afford to buy it, but can you afford insurance, and repairs? I would go with something less expensive/ more reliable if I were you.

Well, I got about 10 months to decide, I just didnt want to go the common CRX/Civic route.

Actually If I won the lotto I would get a new 2009 Chevy 3500 work van with all options, diesel, idle up switch, dual alts stock (then upgrade), then go from there...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Some 928s are inexpensive for a reason, as they can be very costly to maintain and repair. Hit some Porsche-specific forums and see for yourself. Good luck and stay safe.

Thanks for the help, I would hate to learn the hard way and waste an asston of $.
