How a speaker terminal cup works?

i need to order 2 terminal cups for the boxes i built for my 10's. the manufacturer recommends 5-way binding posts which they sell at crutchfield. my question is, can u run a normal speaker wire all the way through into the box, because my subs have like a spring-loaded hole that u push the bare wire through and it tightens up. so my question is, can i run wire through these, or do i have to connect it to a female end or something like that. kinda confused.

just go to a radio shack...any cup will do...

Or drill a hole in your box, run the wire through, and seal it up ... with caulking, a rubber grommet, fiberglass, etc ...

yea i think thats what im gonna do is drill ahole and seal it uo( be alot easier)

easiest/most secure thing to do. terminal cups like to come loose on ya straight wire from sub to amp is gonna be ur best bet for the best connection
