Hotel Charged Me $350 For Damages, Can I Dispute With Visa?

i work for Marriott and can tell you that when someone reverses charges we just turn it over to a collection agency and ruin their credit. On top of ruined credit it ends up costing them at least twice what it would have cost to just pay the fine.
You smoked in our room and you got what you deserved.

I have had some pretty wild parties in decent hotels and even ****ed up a few things by accident and never been charged for anything. I am guessing you probably smoked in the room (they could smell it) and the bed damage may or may have not been yours. They may have been looking for shit because you smoked in the room.

That being said if you did not sign anything saying 'I will pay $250 fine if I smoke in the room' I would fight that bish and if they send it to a collections agency tell em to F-off, if they turn it to a credit agency dispute it as I don't think they will have a leg to stand on (no real 'proof') and finally don't rent a room and smoke in it if you don't want to have to go through this shit again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I forgot to mention that if it was stated in the contract that you pay 250$ for smoking and you signed it, and then they have proof of you smoking, then you're screwed.

They put the same disclaimer for damages on the paperwork you sign as well. That is a contract. Every Hotel I have stayed at has a smoking and damages disclaimer. This isn't to say he can't fight it, but your assertion that they "just charged" it illegally I don't believe to be the case. These hotels have lawyers on retainer covering their *** on the paperwork you sign. They have dotted the Is and crossed the Ts.
