Hopeing to build a new system soon

Hello all,

I'm pretty new to car audio, but I'm tired with my stock system. I mostly listen to Metal/Rock, but somtimes I listen to some hip hop or ska. I'm looking to build a new system, but I'm not looking to spend a whole lot on it, becasue I'm broke. I've talked to a few people, and decided that the best set up would be 2 new component speakers in the front, a sub and an amp in the back, and a new headunit to boost the sound. I have a mercury sable 2000 sedan...which kind of limits my headunit/speaker capability...because there are not a whole lot of speaker that fit the car. Can anyone give me any suggestions? Give us a little more information then we may be able to help you a little more.

1.The questions most will need answered is Budget?

2. HU capabilites (EX. Sirius MP3) ?

3. Do you want to modify your stock door locations or doors in any way. (If you can do this or make Kick Panles it will give you much better options). ?

4. What size sub would you like, based on size constraints, and would you like SQ or just pure SPL or maybe in between?

With those questions answered it will be easier to get started. I am sure we will come up with many more as we go.

Well, for questions 3 and 4, you might as well be speaking chinese. I know absolutley nothing about Car audio, hence I am here. I am trying to learn though, so please be patient with me. I would rather not modify the doors. To fit different speakers. As for the Sub, My trunk is pretty big. The only concern I have is that the spare tire is under the trunk, and my back two seats have access to the trunk becasue they are pull-down. Now for the budget. I wan't to spend about 500. Luckily I'm employed at Best buy and have a ridiculously good employee discount, so lets assume that I have 1k to spend. If for some reason that link is dead, the model number is SPR-57LS.

As for the HU capabilites, I have none atm. On the sables the air/heat/radio is all in one giant panel, and I would need to get the panel replaced. Hope this helps.
