hopefully last question

ok, this is hopefully the last ghetto deadener question i have. i ordered damp for my rear door, and i hope that works to kill rattle. then im going to greatstuff foam the inside of it. but, as one last addon, would cutting a piece of mdf and putting it between the subbox and backdoor help? i currently have my batteries there, and they could hold it up. so thered be around 8-10 inches between the port and rear piece of mdf. would that extra piece of mdf help?
