Hooking Up Type-Rs

OK so I bought 2 Alpine Type-R 1041Ds and i'm buying a US Acoustics 1000d next week. I'm just wondering what is the best way to hook these up, I'm new to car audio and need all the help i can get. On websites they say the 1041Ds are 100-300 RMS. So would it be bad running the amp at 1ohm (which is like 1200 RMS) cause thats like 600 RMS to each sub and they're only rated 100-300 RMS. But peak power handling is 1000 watts.

I'm kind of confused about all this... Is the US Acoustics amp the right choice for these subs, i want the best sound i can get from them without it being bad for them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Also i listen mostly to rap so everybody says get a ported box, is ported OK for techno too?

Please just tell me the best possible way to hook these subs up.... Thanks!

Dragoncub: so if i set the 1000d at 1ohm, which is around 1200 watts RMS, it would be OK for the subs? It prolly depends how loud i turn it up right? And what does the peak power mean? If it says 1000 watts doesnt that mean, 600 RMS (1200 x 2) would be OK?

DoubleR: On the alpine website they say (4 ohm + 4 ohm) so i guess they're dual.

Here's the site:

http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/item_info?p_item_name=SWR-1041D&p_category=70&p_subcategory=150&p_main=10&p_more=y

So should i wire them a different way? And whats the difference of running 1 ohm or 2 ohm, just how loud they are?

Thanks for the help so far guys, i appreciate it.

Whats this about current i've bin hearing? That the US Acoustics 1000D amp needs good current to make sure it gets the power it needs to sound good

How do i make sure its getting enough current? And when do you get a better alternator or an extra battery? Would i need that?

Thanks

Current, or enough of it in this case will be supplied by an appropriate size power wire and ground along with upgrades of the vehicles electrical system including a higher capacity alternator, bigger alternator to battery lead and larger ground leads from your battery to the chassis and from the engine block to the chassis.

Let me guesse what the next question is....hmmmm

WHAT SIZE POWER WIRE DO I NEED?

HOW BIG IS THE FUSE SUPPOSED TO BE?

WILL A CAPACITOR HELP?

HOW BIG OF AN ALTERNATOR DO I NEED, WHERE DO I GET IT.

These questions have been asked a thousand times before so please use the forums search funtion.
