Hooking up subwoofer to laptop, will it work?

actually come to think of it, I beleive you could use a turtlebeach thing plugged into your usb which has a headphones jack and your laptop speakers would still play, I had one for my old laptop because I had a wire plugged into the headphones jack and sat on it. Ill try it tonight.

ok i have a question my brother in law just recently gave me his 2 15in subs and amp from his car...i dont have a car yet so i was wondering if there was a way i could get some usage out of them with my comp...now i know almost nothing when it comes to electronics but i do know they hit hard in his car...any way i could get that from my laptop? and is there a possible way to do it safely? with out damaging any thing? if u could explain this to me as if u were telling a small child...because i dont know what anythings called other then the subs and amp lol well please and thank you very much =]

you can use the mini headphone jack and use a mini to rca plug adapter,so you can plug into the amps inputs, but you need a power source for the amp. your laptop wont power the subs on its own.

You'll need an array of new equipment, including a receiver, and an amp. You'll also need new full-ranges and what not. A lot of people do it. Well, not really car speakers since they're designed differently than HA speakers. If you're just gunna listen to music, it should do fine. Just remember to tune the box really low.

all you need is a mini plug to rca and a set of simple rca cables and plug it into your home reciever, then use a plate amp like he showed you.

i need the same help, i have two 12' kove Armageddons with a 1400 watt amp that i would like to hook up to my laptop.... I'm totally lost on how to do it!!!! someone please help!
