take a 9V batt and pop the speaker leads, see if the speakers pop. if they dont, there is a factory amp that needs to be bypassed.

by using a 9 volt and tapping the bare wire on the + and - terminals..If they dont pop there is an amp..if they do there isnt and something wrong with the HU..

the hu is brand new so i doubt its that that means theres a factory amp. Would i just run new speaker wires directly to the speakers from the hu

the wiring harness for the hu has an external control and a power control wire. What do these mean

also the antenna from the car is smaller than usual what do i do about that

its a kenwood hu.

Manual says:

Power control wire-When using the optional power amplifier, connect to its power control terminal.

That sounds like a remote to me but theres alreaty a remote wire.

External amplifier control wire-To "EXT.AMP.CONT". terminal of the amplifier having the external amp control function.

Any idea what that means in english
