there are like 6 plastic retainers all around your door panel. When you are done taking off the screws and door handle and removing your metal rod. all you have to do is pry it out and then slide it up and you should be set.

make sure you remove the wires for the window control.

its hard to see up there but i will try that out, sounds weird how the rod would have to come out but i'll see if thats it. thanks!!

The handle / window switch assembly on mine pulls out some once you remove a screw in it and slide the handle assembly forward or back (I forget which direction). Then it pulls out just far enough to pop the plastic clip off with a screwdriver and remove the bar.

i thought the clips/retainers where a given that i knew to pull them out. not my first time taking off doors, just having a problem with this particular one. but thanks to you guys hopefully not. thanks for the info about the rod and unplugging the window button. i'll see if i can get pics if im having trouble, or just to show you guys if anybody is interested.

heres a idea go buy the book for the car hope that helps you out a little better
