honda accord?

I need to replace the rear speakers in my 96 honda accord.they were 6x9's i looked at speakers at a few sites and it says that 6 1/2 's fit..Do i need some mounting kit if i wanted to use this size or do they screw right in? thanx

You need a mounting ring. They don't just drop right in (I made that mistake). I heard the same thing you did too.

my 4way pioneers dropped right in. it could be what model. mine is an lx. also most EX models doesnt use that bar(i dont know what its called but it helps open your trunk) that are on LX, DX models which can give you depth issues.

this is corrent the SE/LX/EX there are differences in them, you can take the speaker pods form any of them though and make an ex have rounds and a lx have 6x9s.
