Yes ... Like I said, expensive wheels, low-profile tires, and a stiff suspension will probably result in something getting damaged on bad roads ...

My good friend has a 94 accord lowered, he cracked his oil-pan and we replaced that, but since then he raised it up a little from -2.75" and has no problem, but he drives very carefully. I know some others with vw's and such that are lowered to no end and they do real well.

My friend's accord with snow tires went quite well from what I thought, and it was the lowest it's ever been when the snow was out.

The other problem is that my rear window keeps leaking from the top, which drips water onto my sub box, which is not good. I replaced the seal, and had the whole window replaced by a pro. window shop, it leaked again about 2 months after that, I have to call them up soon.

My parents think it's from the subs, the pressure does move the bottom of the window at least a half inch in the low frequencies, but I know it's from the truck itself torquing. You can feel the doors move against the roof when you go over a bump/angle in the road.

Well, I don't want a ricer, but rather a clean piece of work. I don't want to change it much from stock ( exterior wise ) other that wheels and a minor body kit.

whys hte MPG so low? driving habits?

how big did you go with the tires? have you regeared?

i get 15/18 in my lifted v8 f150. if you can figure out whats up with hte ranger's gas mileage yuou can improve it a lot

I've decided to keep the ranger. I'm always on ranger-forums.com for all info, and i've tried to get better mileage. I don't drive crazy the vast majority of the time. I upgraded to 31x10.5x15" tires and 15x8 wheels, from 16x7" wheels, which is alot heavier, ALOT more and more heavy-duty off road tire. After winter I may go with a larger wheel (18-19 or so) and road tire. I did a brake/rotor upgrade which helped alot with stopping.

I have the 4.0 L with 4.10 rear end gears, which is bad, I could re-gear.

I'll get an intake and exhaust and other performance upgrades, which may help with mileage, but probably not.

I even have a tonneau cover, which helped about 1 mpg.

dont buy the intake and exhaust full price. they are among hte biggest ripoffs in the auto industry. i will guarantee you on a truck they will do NOTHING for your mileage.

id buy the intake on ebay and just dump a muffler

4.10's are enough gear for you. that is the ratio i am running with my 35's.

i can recommend custom assembling a set of electric fans ( can save you 100 bucks or so over the pre made units they sell). nothing else will help mileage

dont go with the road tire & rim. big rims weigh a lot and youll have a similar weight per rim/tire as your current setup.

run synthetic, it helps

do you have your speedo calibrated? it will read you as going slower and travelling less miles than it should. you might even be getting better mileage (to a small extent)

I want an intake and exhaust for the HP gains, which work, i've seen a dyno test on the exhuast i'm looking at.

As for the electric fans, I looked at that a little while ago and forgot about it. I saw some for around 240$, as you mentioned.

Do you think a road tire pattern as opposed to my semi-mud pattern would save mileage? I know it would a little from less rolling resistance, but the difference I don't know.

I did not get it calibrated after tire/wheel change, they are over an inch larger, which would change some stuff.

I've done synthetic, do most of the time, no difference.

Why are you getting such piss poor mileage on that truck? I have an '02 ext cab with the 4.0l V6 and i get 16-18 city and 19-21 highway, and I floor it everywhere

I have no idea. Before I had wheels/tires I got about what you got, my new wheels and tires weigh about double compared to my stock ones.

Do you have stock wheels and tires?

I also have JET chip which should help a little.

Here's everything not stock: single 2.25" in/ dual 2" out magnaflow muffler, SCT X-Cal programmed by Doug at Bamachips, 15x8 American Racing Outlaw II wheels, my tires are 235's instead of the stock 225's, and a K&N Cold Air intake.

I've never run bad gas mileage, but it has stepped up maybe 1 mpg with everything... but it's a good deal faster!

My stock were 255's, now i've got 31x10.5.

My only performance is the JET chip and K&N drop in air filter with the bottom of the air box cut off. I'm also running a decent high powered stereo system which probably pulls alot from the alternator robbing some mileage/power.

Eh.... I doubt it's your system. I'm running ~900w to my subs, 125w to my front comps, and 130w to the midbass speaks. You my try getting a tune up, flushing the system, ect.

having owned two accords, all i can say is you can't go wrong... but theres so many sacrafices, theres also rewards, but if you like driving a truck as much as you probably do, your not going to like the transition to a car... i went from honda to tahoe to honda and it was akward as hell.

I have only 40,000 miles on it, I changed the plugs a few months ago. I'm running ~850 to my subs and 180 to my other speakers combined. Plus I did the big 3 wiring.

I might flush the coolant some time real soon, thought about that.
