Honda Accord or Ford Ranger??

Right now I have an 01 Ford Ranger extended cab 4x4 xlt, with minor performance upgrades and exterior upgrades for looks. I want to get a Honda Accord, EX, 5sp, 2001-2003, sedan. I have a decent system in my truck but it is not set up at all for a sq system, especially since the subs have to be right behind you.

The problem is that I live in Pennsylvania with bad roads and bad winters. My truck gets terrible gas mileage, around 13 mpg average, and I drive 20 miles to and back from work 5 days a week.

I want an Accord because the sound system setup would be greatly improved, I want to totally fill it with upgrades including body kit, high-end SQ system, wheels, racing tires, lowered with performance suspension, etc and maybe to some auto-x in it.

The snow driving and terrible roads are making me keep the truck.

Also i'm a junior in college and don't have much money, and I'm going to school in north-west PA, where the snow is riciculous in the winter, but in the summer I'll live here, which is near Pittsburgh.

What would you rather have, an Accord or Ranger? just asking for suggestions

just took a look at your cardomain... that car is nice, I would keep it fo sho
I know, I love my truck and everyone compliments it, but I hate the gas mileage and I never take it off-road cause it's too nice.

And yesterday I went to see a autocross event with my friend and his car, and I want to do it real bad.

I would keep the Ranger; you get a whole lot more utility out of it.

But you might not need it for that; all depends. Personally, I like my vehicle to have some measure of practical use.

I rarely use the bed, a few times for a lawnmower or large box or something, and my dad always has big trucks, just got a new f-150, so if I really need something that is available. But i'm going away to school this fall and will definately help when moving all of my stuff.

Id keep the truck... Its nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

definitely keep the truck. i went from a wrx to a 04 ranger and don't regret it one bit. pick up a streetbike if you have the need for speed. thats what i did. hell of a lot more fun than a sports car autocrossing anyday IMO.

Well what kind of gas mileage are you getting on the Ranger? That thing is SICK, it would take like 10mpg for me to get rid of that...
He's getting 13 mpg. My opinion is why do you really care for our opinions. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. I would go for a truck as I have. Not a ford though, I'd go for a toyota or nissan(smaller but so much cheaper on everything) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. I use my trucks bed all the time though but don't use it to pull anything so its 2.7l 4 banger getting 20mpg does it job just fine for me. (tacoma) GET WHAT YOU WANT. If you don't use the truck it may be a good idea to sell it, buy the honda and then when winter is coming maybe buy an old s-10 or something will 4wd.

edit... 9 mpg city..... daayyymnnnn that sux.

Keep the truck. I bought a sentra brand new with the same idea lowere, wheels, bodykit. Well lowered with snow tires it did okay in the snow but not great after getting the body kit. I will never take it out in weather that may snow. I did one day and luckily got home before it snowed. Urethane kits are a must here thats what I got. Fiberglass kits are always cracked. After the body kit I had to get something else for winter so I bought a durango its more practical in carrying stuff winter and with my son. Just my 2 cents
