I just bought a house a few days ago... I plan on building a small bar and a medium dedicated HT in the basement.... It'll be awhile, but I'll take pics of the progress and finished product...

dollars, the server or whatever you want to call it was a big part of that. its pretty neat, he can store something like 400 dvd's on it, ever tv is hooked up to it (every room has a plasma or lcd) they all have a menu. and their own special remote. everyone can be watching a different movie off the server in their own room. or listening to cds, direct tv, anything they want. and they have control over the house from a few of them as well... thats not even half the shit it can do either.

of course this is a 20 million dollar house so its really only a small fraction. that price wasn't including the speakers throughout the house, the tv's, etc. etc.

Who makes that server and software???

i have absolutly no clue i just remember hearing some of the figures as we were finishing on the house. i do however have some pictures of a 5.5 million dollar (it'll likley be worth alot more then that, this customer keeps upgrading and adding shit to the plans for the house) house that we should have finished in the next year if you'd like to see those.

Where I live a 1 million house is more like a shack to store tools, but in other parts of

the country it's a huge mansion.

To add to the comedy. My location housing is ~$450k for a small home, 1200 sq. ft.

Drive 5 minutes away and a town house with no backward or front yard, smaller in sq. ft,

cost $550k, drive another 10 minutes and a similar house cost $800k. /sick

Another interesting tidbit. Bill Gates complained about his property tax on his 50 million

dollar home, I believe tax per year was ~ $500,000 assuming 1% tax. /sick
