ok is it possible to put your home subs in your car? i have 2 12" cerwin vegas that are just sitting in my house not even hooked up. so i was thinking might as well put them to use and stick them in a sub box and throw them in my car? will this work or no?

love the maturity in this forum A+
yep, get use to it if your gonna stick around.

shure home drivers will work ina car, depending on the ohm load your amp may not put out its potential but it will work. the subs my not last that long in a car enviroment though.

reminds me of what few mexicans in my hood did some 10years ago, putting some home speakers in their cars could really hear the highs and mids more then the bass anything as they go buy thumping some their music

uhm....
you CAN **** a goat but that doesn't mean that you should... Home Audio is for use in the HOME
you need to actually know what you're typing about, before you actually type it. one of the best sounding systems i've ever had were were "home" audio subs. i have an old ppi, which is bridgable at 4 ohms. a couple of 8 ohms subs would run just fine off it.

I've put house audio in my car when I was 16 and had no money. It sounded pretty good for a 100 watt 12'' from the 80's getting powered by a old school RF punch 2 channel amp.

If you read his post better you ****ing troll, you'd realize that he is going to be putting RAW drivers into a properly built enclosure.

OP, yes you can do that, it just might be hard to find specs on the drivers to build the proper enclosure. I use home audio drivers currently, and have for the last 4 years or so.

A lot of people use 'car audio' subs in the home, so I don't see why you can't use 'home audio' subs in the car. What makes one okay for car use and the other not? ((nothing that I can think of right now, except maybe material difference that would cause failure over time due to the heat and UV exposure.)

If they are just sitting there doing nothing and you don't mind if they die eventually, I say build em a box and get em going!

do what you want...

I guess I won't be the one with a ****** rigged "system" looking like a fool. While you'r at it you can get a converter and slap that 27" TV you have sitting around in there too. Shit i think i have a kitchen sink just sitting around as well so i guess that is a good enough reason to throw it in a car. next will be the christmas lights and left over hardwood flooring...

i said you CAN do it but IMO you shouldn't, many will agree and many will disagree...

you said nothing like that. this is your quote: "uhm....

you CAN **** a goat but that doesn't mean that you should... Home Audio is for use in the HOME". that is a false statement. and your comparisons to sinks and hardwood floor to subwoofers are idiotic as well. unless someone here can show me a sink that sings.

I disagree, I have a friend with a old school dodge van in the 1970's that has a 27'' TV, hardwood flooring, toilet, sink, bed, stove and a set of house speakers even in the house box's. It even looks like a mini house in side...lol
