anyone know a good amp to match these or even if theyre any good? my step dad ordered them without talking to me first and i dont know anything about them. the boxes say 1200 watt max per dual speaker guessing thats per pair and assuming they really only take 300 or even less. the price he paid bothers me also. i dont know anything about what he has but i do know that his previous set of tweeters he over powered. they were ordered before i knew anything at all about audio. and we ordered everything based off of the max power rating.

Are they speakers or subs...When I use to dj at my parents resturant at the bar, I used 2x 1000rms 3 way speakers....I put about 500rms into them both and you could here it 20 blocks away... for my house for subs i used a psu and a car amp...do with 3 way speakers there cheaper then setting up different speakers for different freq..High quality dj amps are expensive...the one i was using was about 1,900$

Car audio and home audio is so different, 500rms car audio is only like 190 home audio....

yeah hes got about 8000 dollars worth of stuff right now but doenst know a thing about it... theyre tweeters got em here theyre bullet dome tweeters if im correct. hes got 4 18 inch earthquake enclosures 4 midrage 15s and had 4 tweeters (all blown from too much power) in same size boxes that he built himself... we didnt know any better...

My friend is a dj and I handle a lot of the tech stuff for him. You don't need a ton of power in a house. The post above is right in asking if they are speakers or subs, but I'm gonna assume they are speakers. A link to the exact speakers would help a lot.

and he does large venues 200 +people hes mexican so does mexican parties rents out large building...

So are you gonna build that into a box with any mids?

Maybe you can get a passive crossover somewhere that will work well with that and a mid.

well hes got everything but tweeters and hes got two of those sitting on the kitchen table atm think theyre worth anything doens say enough info for me and the box isnt any more helpful... he had 4 tweeters each to theyre own like 4x2x2 foot enclosures.... lol thought that enchanced the sound caused the subs/mids were in those size boxes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

EDIT: the tweets have a capacitor? on the pos i think crosses it over at 2k hz

I would only put 100-250rms into that (home audio wattage) Do not push thoughs things hard. You will here them distort after to much power

No professional home audio amp that is 2krms will be cheap!!! You will be looking to spend around 400$ for a home audio amp.

he already has 6 amps... thats what im saying he has about 8k hes spent already... just needs to get some tweets and matching amp...

Just use any amp then...you will know when your over powering home audio... at a certain level they will sound like shiiiiiiit, trust me you will know.

ok thanks for the help chase... hes really stubborn in listening to others and not me maybe i can talk to him.... i beleive he has cerwin vega earthquakes? subs and i think he has QSC audio PLX (xxxx) not sure model number amps.

Just remember 30$ tweeters.....Get better cross overs...If it was me i'd sell every thing and just pick up some 3 way's...What are you using these's for?? Just home or like big loud partys?
