Mechman's 270A alts are $600, DC powers 270A are $630.....i wana get a alternator thats at least 250 for my 2006 4.7 toyota tundra....what is the best choice for a daily driver powering a 3k amp with stock battery paralled to a Shuriken 80AH battery....O and big 3

Personally I am a fan of DC power just because they sport the higher idle amperage which you will need in a daily driver. I do not know if Mechman has reached these numbers yet. Also another thing I am not sure with about Mechman, I know DC power often builds their alts as a plug and play so you wont have to figure out bolt pattern, pully size, or wiring adapter. You should give each of them a call and weigh your options, but DC is my opinion

ill do that...so dc alts can be installed just like if you were replacing the stock alt with another stock alt?

check out excessive amperage alt's, and ohio generator as well maybe they might have better deals

the thing i like about mechman is they make a 270 amp alt for any vehicle you want. cant find one over 160 for 2.2 ecotecs or gm 2.4 dohc
